Another snow day in the Northeast!! We had 28" of snow as of last night so I had a chance to use my new My Monthly Hero set that arrived this past week. Hero Arts has a monthly subscription plan that I recently subscribed to. This month was a cute garden set with dies to match 3 rabbits, gardening tools, ducks, veggies, a picket fence, and a die to make the earth to stick the veggies in. Here's some of the cards I made (also using the paper that came  and a little light blue vellum from last month's kit):
I stamped all the images on XPress paper with Black Momento because I was coloring the images with Copic markers. I'm not an expert on those markers by a long shot, but I was happy how they turned out just the same.
I didn't color them with bright colors, but more natural colors for the veggies.
I just love the picket fence and the watering can.
This one would be really cute if I only had a stamp that said, "I dig you!"
This shows the die that I cut out of the brown cardstock that allows you to stick the veggies down into the "dirt." I trimmed the tips off some of the carrots so they wouldn't stick out.
Had to use the ducks somehow!

Just in case we don't get that snow storm, I decided to add another video to the collection! Here's one using the Hampton Arts stamp positioned. Many people have done comparison videos online between this one and the MISTI, and they are very similar, except the MISTI will hold a full 8 ½" x 5 ½" card base where this one measures 5 ½" x 7 ⅜" and does not hold the full card base. However, Hampton Arts makes a 10" x 10" version. Since I make more cards than scrapbook pages, I like the MISTI better (even though it's about twice as expensive) because I need to get the whole card base in for the inside greetings. However, this one works fine for card fronts that are a little smaller, as you will see in this video:

Making A Medallion

Thanks for joining me for this card making tutorial! Today we are using the new Sale-A-Bration set "Make A Medallion" from Stampin' Up! to make this relatively simple card. I say "relatively simple" because if you've not seen how to do partial die cutting before, this card uses that technique. I have been offline lately because besides having a full-time teaching job, I've also agreed to direct our school drama production... less time for card making and more time making props!! My husband says we are getting another "Noreaster" tomorrow night so maybe another snow day is in store?! One can only hope!!

Anyway, here's the video for this card and I hope you like it! If you do, subscribe to my channel and give it a "thumbs up!"
